Prop Story

The Surprise; adapted from George Shannon
Little Bee was worried. His mother’s birthday was today he still hadn’t found her a present. She had perfume & books & the most beautiful garden. He’d already given her drawings, and songs that he’d made up. And every time he made a cake, he burned it.

He sighed and said, “I’ll just have to give her a plain old birthday card,” but then he had an idea.  He left his mother a note and a big box saying, “Open your birthday present right away!”  When his mother came home she saw the box and the note.  She untied the ribbon and opened the box. But there was another box inside. So she opened that box – and found another box! And opened that box – and found another box! And when she opened that box… Little Bee jumped out and gave her a big kiss!

Making Cookies
I am making cookie doug
Round and round the beaters go
Add some flour from a cup
Stir and mix the batter up.
Roll them, cut them nice and neat
Pet them on a cookie sheet.
Bake them, count them 1, 2, 3
Serve them to my friends for tea.

Two Little Friends
Two little friends went out to play
On a bright and sunny day
They had such e-nor-mous fun
They called another little friend to come,
"Come and play!"

Continue counting up

Five little friends went out to play
On a bright and sunny day
They ran, they jumped, they had such fun
They played and played til the day was done!
