October 7 - 13 is Fall Astronomy Week! October 12 is International Observe the Moon Night! What better way to celebrate the heavens than to explore stars, the solar system, and our moon at the Do It Yourself Table this month!
We have four activities children can do anytime they visit the library this month!
- Make a shooting star (idea from here)
The orange paper on the table shows them how long to cut the streamers and ribbon. |
- Play Memory or Go Fish with space cards
- Connect the dots constellation or space word search
- Color a space shuttle or observatory
So stop by the DIY station anytime in October to do some or all of these activities!
