ABC Welcome

Welcome, welcome everyone
We're together let's have some fun
Stories, songs, and puppets too
Storytime is a place for you!
Do you know your ABCs?
Come along and sing with me!
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXY and Z

Now I've sung my ABCs
Next time won't you sing with me?!

Magnet Board

Winter, spring, summer, fall
There are seasons, four in all.
Weather changes, sun and rain and snow
Leaves fall down and flowers grow.

Winter, spring, summer, fall
There are seasons, four in all
Look outside and you will see
Just what season it will be!

Imagination and Movement Song

Jumping Song
(adapted from Jim Gill)

Spoken: It's winter! Let's jump into the snow!

Jump, jump, jump, jump
Jumping me and you
But we'll stop jumping as we count to 2.
1, 2

Spoken:  It's spring!  Let's jump in the rain puddles!

Jump, jump, jump, jump
Jumping high with me
But we'll stop jumping as we count to 3
1, 2, 3

Spoken: Now it's summer!  We might jump into a swimming pool or jump on a trampoline!

Jump, jump, jump, jump
Jumping more and more
But we'll stop jumping as we count to 4
1, 2, 3, 4

Spoken:  After summer it's fall!  Let's jump in the pile of leaves!

Jump, jump, jump, jump
Jump 'cause you're alive
But we'll stop jumping as we count to 5
1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Spoken: Raise your hands high above your head and as we count backwards, slowly lower yourself to the floor
5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Magnet Board Poem
Seasons of the Year

Wintertime the snow does fall
Mittens, hats, make snowballs!
Skate, then make a snowman tall (or small)
Because it is winter!

In the springtime, days grow warm
On the plants, the new buds form
Bees and bugs come out to swarm
Because it is spring!

In summertime, the days are hot
Ice cold treats I eat a lot!
At the beach, I've got a spot
Because it is summer!

The air is cool, fall is here
Pumpkins, leaves, let's give a cheer
The holidays are very near
Because it is autumn.

Movement Song
One Bright Scarf

It seems that in every season we can have wind!

One bright scarf, waiting for the wind to blow
Wiggle it high, wiggle it low
Shake it fast, shake it slow
Hide it behind your back
Where'd it go?

Rhyme

Star light, star bright
The first star I see tonight
I wish I may, I wish I might
Have the wish I wish tonight.

Magnet Board
(tune: If you're happy and you know it)

Oh, I wish I were a floating butterfly (x2)
I'd go flutter, flutter, fly
In the bright blue morning sky
Oh, I wish I were a floating butterfly!

Oh, I wish I were a shiny little fish (x2)
I'd go swimmy, swimmy, glide
In the Big blue ocean tide.
Oh, I wish I were a shiny little fish!

Oh, I wish I were a silver airplane (x2)
I'd go soar, soar, soar
As my engines loudly roar
Oh, I wish I were a silver airplane!

Oh, I wish I were a tall, tall leafy tree (x2)
I'd be the place to rest
For the birdies in their nest.
Oh, I wish I were a tall, tall leafy tree!

Oh, I wish I were a green and speckled frog (x2)
I'd go croaky, croaky, croak
As I jumped into the brook
Oh, I wish were a green and speckled frog!

Oh, I wish I were a bright and shining star (x2)
I'd go twinkle, twinkle, spark
In the nighty nighttime dark.
Oh, I wish I were a bright and shining star!

Fingerplay Story
The Three Little Pigs

Three little piggies were sitting in the house,
When along came a wolf as quiet as a mouse.
He said, "Little pigs, little pigs, let me come in!"
"Not by the hair of our chinny chin, chin!"
Then that old wolf huffed and that old wolf blew
And away one piggy flew!

Repeat for 2nd little pig

One little piggy was sitting in the house
When along came a wolf as quiet as a mouse.
He said, "Little pig, little pig, let me come in!"
"Not by the hair of my chinny chin, chin."
Then that old wolf huffed and that old wolf blew
And away the last little piggy flew!

No little piggies were sitting in the house
When along came a wolf as quiet as a mouse.
He said, "Little pigs, little pigs, let me come in!"
But there was no one home to answer him.
So that old wolf turned and went on his way,
Saying "I'll be back again another day."
Later that night, back the piggies did creep.
They crawled into bed and fell fast asleep.

Alternate
I planned on doing My Bus flannel, but it was very awkward to try to hold the flannel board and manipulate the pieces, so at the last minute I changed it to Driving in My Car.  For Day Two of Zoom I was going to read My Bus (instead of Animals Go Vroom!) then do a flannel guessing game with the dog hiding behind one of the vehicles.  We didn't have anyone come to Friday morning's Zoom.
