Compost Pile Cupcakes

Well, the summer reading program at the Bellevue Public Library is already half-way over!!  As a thank you and a boost for the staff to help make it through the next four weeks I made them "Compost Pile Cupcakes" to go along with our theme of digging.

You can easily make your own Compost Pile Cupcakes!  Bake chocolate cupcakes and frost them with chocolate frosting after they cool.

Use a small knife to poke a hole in the cupcake, then insert the gummy worm so it looks like it's crawling out of the dirt.

For the compost use anything earthly colored and sweet.  I crumpled up Oreos and Nutter Butter cookies, chopped up a few Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and threw in green and red sprinkles.

Ta da!!  Compost Pile Cupcakes!  Enjoy!
