Baby Storytime--October 31

It was so much fun to have storytime on Halloween and to see some adorable babies is adorable costumes including a lion, monkey, penguin, and an elephant!  We had a rather large group today, but it was so fun!

I introduced two new rhymes today:

Rickety, Rickety Rocking Horse
Rickety, rickety rocking horse (gentle bounces)
Over the fields we go
Rickety, rickety rocking horse
Giddy up, giddy up, whoa! (lean back with baby)

Jack and Jill
Jack and Jill went up the hill (gentle bounces)
To fetch a pail of water
Jack fell down (lower baby to floor)
And broke his crown (touch baby's head)
And Jill came tumbling after (roll arms)

We also did "Where, Oh, Where Are Baby's Fingers?" that we learned last week.

And of course we kept our favorites

Roly-Poly
Toast
Tickle the Clouds

Our read aloud book was Peek-a-Boooo! by Marie Torres Cimarusti
We did peek-a-boo for every flap.

This was our 2nd week of using Babybug for our shared reading time.

Play and Learn

The beach balls were the biggest hit today.  I had to go get several more for the little ones to play with!  The toy "box" has become one's favorite play thing--he empties the toys and climbs right in!  Grandma says that's the only time he sits still!
