S is for Spring!

Again I stray from our "letter a week" storytime, but I have a workshop to go to on Thursday and our practicum student will do a storytime she developed on Thursday...so I thought with it being the first day of spring we should celebrate!

Books

999 Frogs Wake Up by Ken Kimura and Yasunari Murakami

Stuck in the Mud by Jane Clarke; illustrated by Garry Parsons

Flannel Board/Songs/Rhymes

Hello, Springtime (tune: Good Night Ladies)

Hello, springtime
Hello, springtime
Hello, springtime
We're glad you came this way!

Hello, green grass
Hello, green grass
Hello, green grass
We're glad you came this way!

Hello, bluebird
Hello, bluebird
Hello, bluebird
We're glad you came this way!

Hello, bunny
Hello, bunny
Hello, bunny
We're glad you came this way!

Hello, sunshine
Hello, sunshine
Hello, sunshine
We're glad you came this way!

Hello, raindrops
Hello, raindrops
Hello, raindrops
We're glad you came this way!

Hello, rainbow
Hello, rainbow
Hello, rainbow
We're glad you came this way!

Hello, springtime
Hello, springtime
Hello, springtime
We're glad you came this way!

Shower Power! (sung to Jingle Bells)

Plip, plip, plop!
Plip, plip, plop!
Rainy, rainy days
Springtime showers
Water flowers
So the bloom in May.

Plip, plip, plop!
Plip, plip, plop!
Rainy, rainy days
Springtime showers
Water flowers
So they bloom in May!

It's Raining, It's Pouring

It's raining, it's pouring
The old man is snoring
He went to bed and bumped his head
And couldn't get up in the morning!
