PBM--Presidents/Elections

Today's Picture Book Month theme is Presidents and Elections--which was a tougher subject to find in a picture book.  But after reading several I settled on Granddaddy's Turn: A Journey to the Ballot Box by Michael S. Bandy and Eric Stein with illustrations by James E. Ransome.  This historical fiction book about the troubles African Americans faced voting in the South in the 1950s and 1960s as told by a young boy.  Included an historical note at the end.  A great read aloud for elementary children about the importance and privilege of voting in our country.
